Dads’ Mental Health Support Group – Collingwood

Men don’t always feel comfortable talking about their feelings, and there’s an unspoken, implicit assumption that dads are meant to be strong and hold it all together for their families. The truth is, many men do struggle with their mental health and fatherhood is not always a walk in the park.
Being a father of young children myself, and acknowledging the stress of parenting can affect one’s mental health, I started facilitating virtual Dads’ Mental Health Support Groups over 4 years ago.
Since moving to the area in 2023, this is the first iteration of the Dads’ Group that will be offered in-person in Collingwood.
Men need an opportunity to come together and share about their difficulties, particularly the emotional struggles they experience while juggling the responsibilities of being fathers, husbands, and providers. The Dads’ Mental Health Support Group intends to provide a space for these important conversations and to foster a sense of community and belonging among local dads.
